ABOUT CHAMPIONS 4 CHARITY

Ploughing back into society!

As a Non-Profit Organisation, this is one of the many contributions that the PIRB makes.

A goal that we believe is commonly shared with many people in our beautiful country, is to provide and contribute to solutions for the development and growth of our country. The PIRB actively works toward achieving this goal through various methods and strategies, including hosting this formal black-tie charity event to raise funds therefor.

The PIRB (Plumbing Industry Registration Board) is officially recognised by SAQA as the Professional Body for the Plumbing Industry in South Africa, and it is headed by an independent board that consists of 10 industry representatives.

Our purpose is to proactively work to promote improved, quality plumbing practices in an open forum, free from any political or commercial agenda, so as to protect the health, safety, and well-being of the South African public, as well as to protect the integrity of the South African Plumbing Industry & Practices for all persons working in it and wishing to work in it.

As stated by our honorable President, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa: “Water is life. It is the most precious commodity in South Africa”, and the plumbing industry is responsible for transporting this most valuable commodity to and within our growing and developing society.

In a constant effort to plough back into society and to achieve the goal of providing and contributing to solutions for the development and growth of our country, the PIRB proudly hosts an annual black-tie charity boxing event, called Champions for Charity. This exciting event entails a formal dinner evening for which our guests buy tickets for their formal dinner tables and ringside seats. At this event our guests are entertained by white-collar boxing matches between various “heavy weights” from within the plumbing industry. At this year’s event, the PIRB also aims to host a professional boxing match between two well-experienced and professional boxers, and the necessary arrangements are currently underway.

The high-level success of our previous, well-organised, formal Champions For Charity events has led us to continue hosting this event annually. All net proceeds raised via the selling of tables and through sponsorships, goes towards charity.

Through our annual Champions for Charity (C4C) event the PIRB aims to not only contribute to a sustainable and positive change within our country, but also to create greater awareness of our industry and expose exiting opportunities therein.

On the basis of commercial viability, we have invited to our event as a guest speaker Mr. Bokang Masunyane, the number one contender in the straw-weight division, as one of the champions.
